Melon Milk Matcha
Bright, sweet, and earthy — a summer take on matcha latte inspired by Japanese melon ice cream.
Ingredients:
-
1 tsp Dust Matcha powder
-
2 oz hot (not boiling) water (~170°F)
-
½ tsp honeydew or cantaloupe syrup (store-bought or homemade)
-
¾ cup cold milk (Fairlife or oat milk both work great)
-
Ice
-
Optional: pinch of salt or dash of vanilla
Instructions:
-
In a bowl, sift matcha powder.
-
Add water (~170°F) and whisk in a W motion until frothy.
-
In a glass, pour syrup and a few cubes of ice.
-
Add milk. Then slowly pour in your matcha.
-
Stir gently or let it layer for the visual. Top with a basil leaf or melon slice if you’re feeling fancy.
The mellow sweetness of melon balances the grassy intensity of matcha. A pinch of salt boosts the complexity and pairs well with the umami notes.
Enjoy!
